What I Did Today

Today I spent the first hour researching job listings and posting them to CTP’s skill center page. I found two jobs in the San Jose area and one hybrid job. Next, I began on the new task I was assigned yesterday, which was ERG outreach. Outreach involved using an email template to fill out contact forms or send emails to organizations which have ERGs for partnership and volunteer opportunities with CTP. Sometimes I can find a general contact email for the organization, but often I have to rely on the company website’s built-in contact form, which is often inflexible. One thing I noticed is that often the inquiry field for these forms has some sort of character limit, which prevents me from sending the template. I tried to skip ahead on the list of companies when I encountered instances like that, because it felt like it broke the workflow I had settled into to try and handle one-off cases differently, or constantly ask questions to Carrie or other Associates. I was able to get over 20 outreach emails / forms done today, and I think I have a pretty good idea of how to do it now.
