Customer Service Representative (Full-Time, On-Site, San Mateo)

California Water Service is offering tools and resources that will keep saving water every day, now and into the future. They are looking for someone to provide customer service via all communication channels, both written and verbal, address customer requests and inquiries, schedule field requests, respond to water quality and service disruptions, organize and schedule service delivery, billing, and collections, document work orders, respond to customer emails, update customer accounts, perform tasks associated with reports and accurate accounting, provide customers with information about programs and services, communicate with outside agencies and departments, communicate between districts, and process customer paperwork as necessary. They want someone who is able to communicate effectively with the supervisor and co-workers, as well as the public, has the ability to perform basic mathematical functions and reconcile account information, is proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office, is able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, has strong reading and writing skills, is able to effectively communicate billing protocols, and is able to prioritize assignments and work in order of urgency and sensitivity. The pay ranges from $28.16 – $32.88 / hr.

They are looking for someone to identify and target potential customers, provide information to customers in person on energy solutions, build rapport with customers, address customer questions and concerns, tailor solutions to customer needs, guide customers through the sales process including contract signing, and adhere to company policies along the way. They want someone who has excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and convey complex information clearly, is a strong self-starter, has the ability to work independently, is goal-oriented, is comfortable working in diverse neighborhoods, has a basic understanding or willingness to learn energy systems, has the ability to manage time effectively, can handle rejection gracefully, and can maintain a professional demeanor at all times. The pay rate ranges from $700 – $1,000 / wk.
