What I Did Today

Today I posted several Customer Service Representative jobs from various job sites to the CTP skill center page. I also did some research into food pantries in northern California. I found at least one resource that was not previously logged for eastern counties, including Mono County and Inyo County. I also posted some other job listings, such as ones related to tech support and also office administration. Some listings did not have enough information or seemed unreasonable, and after reading them more they seemed like they wouldn’t be a good fit for CTP graduates. I have developed some kind of efficiency with finding and postings appropriate jobs. Someone mentioned they were finishing AWEX, and it is nice to see others have success with it as I am just starting.

Field Service Technician (Full-Time, On-Site, Vacaville)

Pentair is a company focused on providing sustainable water solutions, and they are looking for a field technician in the area. You will be asked to diagnose and react to service calls and make repairs. A valid CA driver’s license is required and travel is a must. You will be doing installations and maintenance, and may need to lift up to 75 lbs. Overnight work may sometimes be required. You will make recommendations to customers, and work with the sales force. You will also need to be able to work with power tools. A company vehicle is provided. Pay rate is $18.00 – $20.00 / hr.

Customer Support Representative (Full-Time, On-Site, Fremont)

Business Management Concepts is a business development service provider, and they need someone who can provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries and completing sales. You will identify customer needs and recommend products, maintain customer relationships, be an expert in product and service offerings, keep a record of customer interactions in CRM software, and work seamlessly with other team members. They want someone with organization skills, initiative, a willingness to learn, and people skills. They also want someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and similar experience is preferred. Pay rate is $850 – $1,300 / wk.

Branch Office Administrator (Full-Time, On-Site, Sacramento)

This is an opportunity at Edward Jones’s Sacramento branch office, one team of a larger a financial advisory company. The offices are small, and you may be a critical associate on a team of only 2-3 people. They offer comprehensive 6-month training, and you will be expected to build strong relationships with clients. You are expected to be efficient, able to work independently, able to multitask and meet demanding deadlines, and you should be proficient with current office technologies.
