What I Did Today

I started today with some job postings, as per usual. After meeting with Carrie and getting my new assignment, I familiarized myself with the ERG project, and added LinkedIn links for all the entries that didn’t have them. Excited for tomorrow, when I get to start adding entries of my own!

What I did today

Today I learned about taking screenshots with the snipping tool, and creating tickets with homebase. We also learned about setting up a VPN. I clocked in for the first time today, and I just have to remember to do that every day.

What I did today

Today, we went over some of the basic daily processes of CTT, as well as some of our duties off-hours, such as the required 3 hours of SkillSoft content. In addition, we also went over how to utilize Homebase for proper clocking.

We went over setting up WireGuard, thankfully most of the work on that end was already done from the last time I attended this course, so I just had to set up the new connection. After WireGuard was set up, we used Remote Desktop Connection and had a run through the basics of that before moving on to the OSticket, and getting a quick overview of the ticketing process. We used the snapshotting and snipping tools to get some images on the tickets we made.

Overall, I would say it was a good day.

What I did today

Today’s tech exploration involved honing essential skills: mastering screenshots, setting up VPNs, and navigating Microsoft Windows tools like Remote Desktop Connection and Snipping tool. These fundamental abilities empower smoother workflows and enhanced productivity in the digital realm.

What I did today

Today in CTP Skill Center

Today in class, we learned about remote desktop tunneling in WireGuard to a server in Berkeley CTP. We also covered osTicket, a ticketing system. To we did snippet and screen shots of various previous work.

Remote Desktop Tunneling with WireGuard

WireGuard is a VPN (Virtual Private Network) that allows us to create secure tunnels between devices. In class today, we learned how to use WireGuard to tunnel into a remote desktop server located in Berkeley CTP. This allows us to access the server as if we were sitting in front of it physically.

osTicket

osTicket is a free and open-source ticketing system that can be used to track and manage customer support requests. We learned about the different features of osTicket, such as how to create tickets, assign them to technicians, and track their progress.

I found this topic to be very interesting and I am confident that I will be able to use these skills in the future.

What I did today

Today I added more entries to the Job Postings list. I applied for two of those positions as well. I spent 30 min. working on Skillsoft Microsoft 365 tutorial and another 30 min. working on the QuickBooks tutorial. I met with Carrie for 20 min. and received a new assignment for my remaining AWEX hours. I worked on the ERG list for approximately 30 min.

What I Did Today

Today I did my usual three job listings assignment. I then had my weekly meeting with Carrie where she introduced me to the Disability ERG project. I spent the remaining hour of my shift working on that.
