What I did today

I got familiar with homebase by clocking in and viewing the website. Posted my first “What I did today” post on the WordPress website. I see the CTT program is a little more extended and gets into some detail. I am excited to see just how far CTT can take me towards my career goals. I hope that I can get the hang of everything there is to come.

What I did Today

Today we went through the Core Orientation and learned how to set up a dedicated class profile in the Chrome browser. We installed some useful extensions, and edited our shortcuts to the basic pages for class, saving space on the shortcut bar. We registered for Grammarly, WordPress, and LastPass. We looked at the Skillsoft requirements for the course.

Graduation!

Join us on October 17th from 5:30-7:00 PM via Zoom to celebrate the remarkable achievements of 45 individuals who have successfully completed their training at the Computer Technologies Program. These graduates have worked hard and had to overcome numerous barriers to reach this crucial milestone on their path to new careers. This inspiring event will shine a spotlight on their journeys, milestones, and unwavering dedication. https://www.ctpberk.org/2024-ctp-graduation/

What I Did Today

Today in the first hour I worked on finding suitable job listings and posting them to CTP’s skill center page. I was happy to see Mike Curran return from his absence and said hello as the meeting started. The job postings I found included only one fully remote job, both others included required training for certain specific company tools. Eventually, Carrie posted an employer spotlight event flier and requested it to be posted to the Job Fair section of CTP’s skill center, so I had the opportunity to do that. I had to extract information from the PDF, so I tried to summarize it inline and include links and formatting for emphasizing important information about how to attend. Next, I continued on with ERG research, and even got to the bottom of the list of companies that were already added. However, there were still entries that had been missed, so I spent the rest of the time going back through those. If I’m not assigned any new tasks tomorrow, I will be able to research more companies. Otherwise, I will either do outreach or any other assigned task.
