What I Did Today

  • First accommodation request talk (only cried a little!)
  • — Wholeassing skillsoft too much. Take less granular notes
  • — Watch at a higher speed (this helps more than I thought it would)
  • — Start it at 4:20 in class (this worked today, though I was late starting it because the lab was so interesting)
  • Lab
  • — Got Teamviewer working! did not get a single question answered but it seems like we were rushed on this one because of mock interviews. 4 was a lofty lofty goal for 1.5 hours
  • Troubleshooting Approach
  • — took notes. want to know more about this. Scientific Method for troubleshooting basically
  • I wonder what my typing speed is. I never learned “the right way”

What I did today

Today we learned what a VPN is and useful ways to utilized it. We continued working on the Remote Connectivity Lab. We learned how to install and use TeamViewer, AnyDesk, and TightVNC. We learned the features of each remote connectivity product, how much each product cost, and pros and cons of each product.

What I Did Today

This deleted itself AGAIN I’m gonna cry
TDeleted;DRemember
– Class is together now which is nice
– So much frontloading information god help but it’s fine I’m just so slow
– Got to the point of a working Windows VM by the end. Deeply satisfying. I’m getting pretty good at setting up VMs now that I’ve reinstalled Debian so many times.
– On the absolute strugglebus with the Skillsoft. It’s in my exact disability blindspot as an assignment and it’s composed entirely of jargon that slides off my brain. The lectures are taking much longer than they are as recordings and I don’t have the energy to put 6 extra hours in. I’m taking physical notes in an attempt to comprehend it. I feel like I’m putting my skull through a brick wall. I think I’m gonna need some kind of instructor assistance with this one. I’ll write an email about it to Jose. Conversationality or more frequent checkins or coworking during office hours or something.

What I did today

Today we started the Remote Connectivity Lab. We looked up definitions of common computer terms. We learned how to set up a Window 10 VM. We learned how to connect our home computer to a Windows VM using Remote Desktop Connection. We learned the meaning behind Free and open-source software (FOSS) which is a software that is available to the public for free and can be modified and distributed by anyone.
